Getting started
Your first workspace and project
Create a workspace, start a project from a template, open it in the editor and run it.
Create a workspace
Your personal workspace is ready the first time you open the dashboard. To make another — for a team or a client — open Workspaces → Create workspace, give it a name, a colour and an address (/w/your-name). You become its Owner.
Create a project
- Open the workspace and choose New project.
- Pick a template — Blank, Next.js, React + Vite, Node + Express, FastAPI, Go, Rust, or plain HTML / CSS / JS. The dialog shows the starter files you'll get.
- Name it and create it.
Free workspaces can hold 5 projects, Pro 50, and Team as many as you like.
Open it in the editor
Choose Open in editor. The editor takes the whole window: files on the left, tabs across the top, the status bar along the bottom. Everything saves automatically.
Run it
Press Run in the top bar. KODEO starts your project inside your own browser tab, installs its dependencies (cached for next time), and shows the result in the Preview panel. See Run your project for what browsers can do this.
Run works for Node.js projects and plain web pages. Python scripts run in the terminal with python3. Go and Rust projects can be edited, committed and pushed, but not run in the browser.
Invite a teammate from Members and open the same project together — you'll see each other's cursors as you type.
