01The agreement
These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between you and Mohit Bansal (“KODEO”, “we”, “us”), the operator of kodeo.website. They apply every time you create an account, open a workspace or pay for a plan.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please stop using the service. Continuing to use KODEO means you accept them, along with our Privacy Policy and Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes are announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
02What KODEO provides
KODEO is a collaborative, browser-based development environment. It lets you create workspaces, invite teammates with roles, and build projects together.
The service is delivered entirely online. Nothing is shipped physically. Access to paid features is activated as soon as your payment is confirmed by our payment partner, usually within a minute.
We add, change and occasionally retire features. If we retire something you rely on, we give reasonable notice. We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service.
03Your account
- You must be at least 18, or have your parent or guardian’s consent, and be able to enter a contract.
- Give accurate details and keep your email address current — we send security and billing notices there.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password safe and enable every security option we offer.
- Tell us immediately at security@kodeo.website if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One person per account. Workspaces are how you share access with a team.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger zone. Deleting it removes your profile, workspaces you own and their projects.
04Plans, seats and add-ons
Plans are bought per workspace, not per person. The current plans are:
- Free — 5 projects, 3 members, 5 runtime hours a month.
- Pro — ₹499 per month per workspace.
- Team — ₹399 per seat per month, 2–100 seats.
- Add-ons — one-time purchases of runtime hours or storage that never expire.
Prices are in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Live details are on the pricing page, which is part of these terms. We may change prices, but never for a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before a change affects your renewal.
Owners and admins of a workspace can buy, change or cancel a plan. The workspace owner is responsible for the amounts due.
05Billing, renewals and failed payments
Payments are processed by Cashfree Payments. When you subscribe, you approve a recurring mandate on Cashfree’s secure page using UPI AutoPay or a card. We never see or store your card or bank details.
- The first month is charged when you approve the mandate. Your plan starts immediately.
- The plan renews automatically every month on the same date until you cancel.
- Changing plan or seats charges the new plan straight away and credits the unused part of your current month.
- If a renewal fails, Cashfree retries automatically. Your plan keeps working for a 7-day grace period; if payment still hasn’t succeeded after that, the workspace moves to Free.
- A receipt in PDF is emailed for every successful payment and stays available under Billing.
Moving to Free never deletes anything. Projects and members stay; you simply cannot create more than the Free limits until you upgrade again.
06Acceptable use
You may not use KODEO to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy;
- store or distribute malware, or run attacks, spam, scraping or crypto-mining;
- attempt to breach, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or bypass plan limits;
- resell the service, or share one account across many people to avoid buying seats;
- upload content that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually exploitative.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, and where the law requires it, report the activity. Where it is reasonable, we will contact you first.
07Your code and content
Your content stays yours. You keep all rights to the code, files and data you put into KODEO.
You give us a limited licence to host, copy, transmit and display that content purely to operate the service for you and your workspace members — for example to store your files, show them to collaborators you invited, and back them up.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, and for keeping your own copies of anything important. We take reasonable care, but you should not treat KODEO as your only backup.
08Our intellectual property
The KODEO name, logo, interface, design and software are owned by Mohit Bansal. These terms do not give you any right to use our branding, copy our interface, or use our software outside the service itself.
09Third-party services
We rely on a few trusted providers to run KODEO: Cashfree Payments for payments, an email provider for transactional email, Neon for database hosting and Vercel for application hosting. Signing in with Google or GitHub is optional and uses their systems.
Your use of those services through KODEO is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for outages or decisions made by these providers, though we will always work to restore service quickly.
10Warranties and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue or lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the workspace concerned in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited under Indian law.
11Suspension and termination
You can stop using KODEO at any time: cancel the subscription from Billing, or delete your account from Settings.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or where we are required to by law. If we close your account without cause, we refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
12Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Before starting formal proceedings, please write to support@kodeo.website — nearly everything can be sorted out directly, and we respond to every message.
