This headline is a live document — four people are editing it right now. That’s KODEO: real-time code, a runtime in your tab, real Git. Nothing to install.

Inside KODEO
Every file, transactional
Real files in Postgres. Version-checked saves, a 7-day trash, storage metered to the byte.
Monaco on desktop. CodeMirror on touch.
A proper editor for the device in your hand — one palette, one snippet library, twenty themes.
Everyone in the same document
CRDTs over a WebSocket: cursors, comments anchored to code, chat, follow mode. Offline edits merge.
Node, running in your tab
WebContainers boot the project in the browser. Your code runs sandboxed, never on KODEO’s origin.
A real shell, shared
Seventy-six commands, Python with pip, history on every device — and teammates can watch or type.
Real Git, on the server
Git’s own formats, proven byte-for-byte against git. Branches, merges, blame — and GitHub, built in.
Real-time
Open the same project and you’re in the same room — on a laptop, a tablet or a phone. When the connection drops, you keep working, and it catches up when you’re back.
Cursors, not conflicts
Every keystroke merges through a CRDT. Undo only ever undoes yours.
Comments that stay put
Threads are anchored to the code itself, so they survive edits above them.
Follow anyone
Jump to a teammate’s file and viewport — or summon the room to your line.
Chat beside the code
@mentions, unread badges, and it all works from a phone.

@Aisha should this be queued so checkout never waits on email?
A Good call — on it.

Runtime & terminal
Node boots inside your browser tab — no container to provision, no queue for a remote machine. Terminals, Python and a live preview come with it, and every problem lands in one list.

Runs in your tab
WebContainers boot Node in WebAssembly. Dependencies are cached in your browser, so the second run takes seconds.
An editor made for touch
CodeMirror 6 on phones and tablets — not a desktop editor shrunk down. Same themes, same snippets.
Watch from anywhere
An iPhone can’t run code — it can watch a teammate’s terminal live, and ask to type.
Nothing you run touches KODEO’s servers — your code runs in your own browser.

Git & GitHub
Not a wrapper around someone else’s API. KODEO speaks Git’s own object and pack formats on its server — proven byte-for-byte against real git — so a teammate on a phone and you in a terminal see the same repository.
Tokens are encrypted, stay on the server, and never reach your browser.
Security
Security isn’t a page of promises here — it’s how every part is wired. This is the real architecture: where your code runs, what each server may touch, and what it can’t.
Your code never runs on our origin
Projects run in a sandboxed frame on another origin. A running app can’t read your KODEO session.
Sessions built to be stolen from
Argon2id passwords, 15-minute access tokens and rotating refresh tokens with reuse detection.
Authorised per message
Every realtime message is checked, server-to-server calls are HMAC-signed, and the collab server holds no database credentials.
Secrets stay secret
GitHub tokens are AES-256-GCM encrypted and used only on the server. Commits are scanned for secrets.
We never see your card
Payments happen on Cashfree’s page; plans change only on verified webhooks.
2,447 automated checks
Run against a mock payment gateway, a mock GitHub on real git and a live collaboration server.
2,447 automated checks · all passing
