A payment failed
What happens when a renewal is declined, the 7-day grace period, and how to fix the payment method.
1 min readUpdated 27 Sept 2026
When a monthly renewal is declined, the workspace is past due:
- Cashfree retries automatically, and billing managers get an email and a notification.
- Your plan keeps working for a 7-day grace period. Nothing is locked.
- If it still hasn't gone through after 7 days, the workspace moves to Free. Nothing is deleted.
Fix it
Open Billing and choose Update payment method — approve a new UPI mandate or add a card. KODEO charges the missed renewal and the plan continues as normal. You can do this during the grace period or any time after.
Common reasons
- The UPI AutoPay mandate was paused or revoked in your UPI app.
- The card expired, or international/recurring payments are off on the card.
- Not enough balance on the renewal day.
If money left your account but the plan still says past due, don't pay again — open a ticket with the Cashfree reference.
