The kodeo dashboard (kodeo ui)

kodeo ui puts the whole project on one terminal screen — people, files, activity, chat, comments, Git and shared terminals — updating live. Every pane and key explained.

kodeo ui opens a full-screen dashboard for a project in your terminal. Leave it with q (or Ctrl+C) and your terminal is exactly as it was.

Open it

kodeo ui # in a linked folder — or the project you picked with kodeo switch
kodeo ui --project acme/storefront
kodeo ui --watch # also keep this linked folder in sync while it's open

With no project to go on, it asks which one (recent first).

The panes

KeyPaneWhat it shows
1ProjectWho's here (browser, VS Code or CLI), who's typing, who follows whom, who's running the project and on which command, plan and usage
2FilesThe file tree, with teammates' initials on the files they have open
3ActivityYour notifications, by day
4ChatThe project's chat, live, with @mentions
5CommentsThreads by file — reply, resolve, reopen
6GitChanges, staging, commits, branches and the commit graph
7TerminalsTeammates' shared terminals

On a wide terminal, Project stays on the left and the other panes share the right. On a narrow one every pane is a tab. Press t to switch between the two; [ and ] make the left side narrower or wider. The layout is remembered on this computer.

Keys

  • Tab / Shift+Tab or 1–7 — move between panes (or click a tab)
  • ↑ ↓ (or j k), Page Up/Down, the mouse wheel — move and scroll
  • Enter — open: a file in your editor, a notification where it points, a terminal to watch
  • : or Ctrl+K — the command bar: run any kodeo command (Tab completes the name). The dashboard steps aside while it runs and comes back after.
  • ? — every key
  • F — stop everyone following you (again to allow it)
  • r — refresh
  • q — leave

In a pane:

  • Chat — i (or @) to write, Enter to send, Esc when done.
  • Comments — r reply, x resolve or reopen, f filter (open, resolved, mine), o open the line in your editor.
  • Git — s stage, S stage all, u unstage, c commit, b switch branch, l the commit graph, p pull, P push, f fetch.
  • Activity — m read/unread, M all read.
  • Files — Enter expands a folder or opens a file, o opens it in your editor, b in the browser.

Live, without polling

Everything arrives from the project's room: people coming and going, chat, comments, files changing, Git moving, terminals being shared. When nothing changes, the dashboard draws nothing. Notifications pop up at the bottom (and on your desktop, if you turned that on with kodeo config desktop on).

You're shown to everyone as "· CLI" while it's open — present, but you never take an editing seat.

If it doesn't open

The dashboard needs an interactive terminal. In plain mode (--plain, for screen readers) use the single commands instead: kodeo who, kodeo chat, kodeo inbox, kodeo git status.
