Share your running app

Teammates see your running app automatically; links let anyone you choose open it — signed in, with a password, or with no sign-in — on any device, with a QR code.

Your app runs in your browser tab — so on its own, nobody else can reach it. Sharing gives it its own address on KODEO's preview domain, carried from your tab through KODEO's preview server.

Teammates see it automatically

While you run your project, members of the workspace can open your app from their editor: the status bar says 1 app to preview, People shows View their app, and the Preview's port chip lists Teammates' apps. They see it live — including changes as you type.

It's on by default, like shared terminals. Turn it off for this project in Share → Teammates see my running app. It ends when your runtime stops.

Press Share in the Preview, choose who can open it and for how long, and Create link & copy — the link is on your clipboard at once.

Who can open it
TeamMembers of this workspace (they sign in once)
Signed inAnyone with a KODEO account — a Team workspace can limit it to its email domains
AnyoneNo sign-in. They first see a notice that it's your code, not a KODEO page
PasswordAnyone with the link and the password you set (Pro and Team)

Links last 15 minutes to 7 days (Free: up to an hour). A link keeps working while your app runs; when it stops, visitors see Paused and the page comes back by itself when you run it again.

In Your links: copy, show a QR code, make it last longer, New link (the old one stops working at once), or Stop sharing. The live dot means your tab is carrying it; the avatars next to Live are who's watching right now.

Open it on your phone

More → Open on my phone shows a QR code. Scan it and the app opens on your phone — and any error it hits there appears in your Problems list as On your iPhone · Safari.

When a workspace uses its month's transfer, its shared previews stop until the 1st. Team owners can set rules for everyone in Workspace settings → Previews.

Safe by design

  • Every share has its own random address on a separate site from KODEO. Your app can't see anyone's KODEO account, and one share can't touch another's.
  • KODEO's preview server only forwards; it can't create access on its own. Tickets to open a share work once and expire.
  • Workspace admins are told when someone makes a link anyone can open, and can stop any link in the project.
  • Anyone who opens a link can report it; KODEO's team reviews reports and can stop a preview.
