KODEO Assist in VS Code

Ask KODEO Assist anything about KODEO without leaving VS Code — in the KODEO sidebar or beside your code, with answers that stream in and cite the Help Center. It never sees your code.

KODEO Assist — the same Assist as on every page of KODEO — is built into KODEO for VS Code.

Open it

  • The Assist view in the KODEO sidebar (the KODEO icon in the activity bar), or
  • KODEO: Ask Assist in the Command Palette — it opens beside your code, as wide as you like.

Type a question and press Enter. The answer streams in as it's written; Stop ends it early; New starts a fresh conversation.

What you get with an answer

  • Sources — the Help Center articles the answer comes from; click one to open it in your browser.
  • Cards — things Assist can point you to (your security settings, billing, a support ticket…). A card opens the page; Assist never does anything itself.
  • 👍 / 👎 — tell KODEO whether it helped. A 👎 goes to the people who look after Assist.

What Assist knows about you

  • It's told which editor you're in (VS Code, Cursor…), whether you're live in a project, your role there, and how many people are in the room — plain state words, checked by KODEO's server. Never your code, your files, errors or terminal output.
  • The first time, it asks what it may look at. With your OK it can read your plan, usage, roles, security settings and your signed-in computers (read-only) to answer questions about your own account. You can change this any time in KODEO under Settings → Privacy & AI.

Limits

Assist has a daily number of questions per plan (shown at the top of the view) and pauses for everyone if its daily budget runs out — the Help Center and support tickets keep working. It helps with KODEO itself, not with writing or fixing code.
